Etrel offers the INCH series, a modern wallbox that can use surplus PV power from your solar system to charge your vehicle via the OCPP interface and our app.
By integrating with us, the wallbox can be operated and intelligently controlled from anywhere.
Preparation
To connect the Etrel INCH, you must activate the wallbox's OCPP backend.
Before starting the setup, you must connect your wallbox to the internet via Wi-Fi or LAN and install the latest updates.
To set up the OCPP backend, you need to access the wallbox via a web browser.
Setup
Add a new wallbox in our app and select Etrel INCH.
When you add the wallbox in our app, your individual OCPP URL will be displayed in the wallbox menu.
Copy the OCPP URL and enter it into the Etrel INCH
1. If the IP address of the wallbox is unknown:
a) Open the service door on the left side of the wallbox.
b) Press the service button until you hear a beep.
The service menu will appear on the screen.
c) In the service menu, select [1. Communication]:
The status of the individual interfaces will be displayed.
d) Note the IP address corresponding to your connection method (Ethernet or Wi-Fi).
2. Open a web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, etc.) and enter the wallbox's IP address in the address bar.
3. Enter your credentials.
The default username and password can be found on a sticker on the service door
4. Check the firmware version:
Click on [≡] -> [Diagnostics]
If the operating system version is older than 5.0.4 or the software version is older than 5.3, you should perform an update first!
5. Open the configuration menu:
Click on [≡] -> [Configuration]
6. Open the menu items [User] and [Charging Authorization]:
7. For the authorization type, you can select [Plug&Charge] if the wallbox should be used without authentication.
If the wallbox is in a public area and you want to restrict access, select [Local users only].
However, do not forget to create at least one local user!
After changing settings, don't forget to [Save]!
8. Open the menu to configure the control center:
Click on [Connectivity] -> [Control Center Connectivity]
9. Configure the following settings:
Check the box [✔] for [Enable communication with control center] and select OCPP 1.6 JSON as the product type.
Charging station identifier: This name will be displayed in our app later.
Control center endpoint URL: Copy the address from our app.
10. Open additional settings (small arrow at the bottom right) and configure them accordingly:
Don't forget the submenu regarding meter value types:
[Save]!
11. The settings will only take effect after a restart.
You can find the Restart button in the Diagnostics menu.
13. If everything went well, a cloud icon will appear in the top right corner after logging in again.
